1. As I worked in this class I learned a lot about new art ideas and styles I could use. (My favorite is to make stop-motion films but I’ll tell you about that later). In my first project I learned how to mess up a ton, lol. It didn’t really turn out the way I wanted it to, but I also didn’t really know what I wanted to do in the first place. To this day I still don’t know how I messed up my colors and shadow to make it look so cool. I did figure out the wand tools and layering very easily though. In my second project I had a blast doing and it turned out perfect! Even though my original sketch was vertical and had more dreams incorporated, I still got the message across. I sent most of my time layering properly (to make it more realistic looking) and messing with the fading of my pictures so that they piece flowed smoothly. Most of these pictures where erased so that each photo could interacted with one another; and that took some time as well. I didn’t really put that much effort into my third project, I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t have the time to do something that was more of a “wow factor.” I just used the fading tools and eraser to create that piece of art. When it came time to make the fourth project it was just around Halloween, so I created a furry picture. Originally I wanted to create myself in three different steps of my life, but I couldn’t find the correct photographs and I couldn’t get the right angles in time to turn in the project. So I choose to do something easier . . . it wasn’t easier. I came to the lap outside of class time just so that I could finish the piece in time. Not only that but I learned how to piece together many different pictures of the same creature; to make one realistic furry creature. My last project before the final (which I did another one of the same thing for my final) I created a stop-motion for the first time and it was time consuming. Both my last project and my final took about two hours straight to just take the pictures. Later in class I learned how to use Imovie to create the final results. I like both of my videos and they turned out (for the most part) just the way I planned/wanted them to. In all of my projects I slowly thought more and more on what I could do for a piece, but I was stumped a lot of the time; and I stuck to my originally creative mind and styles.
2. I do think of all my ideas, but it takes longer for me to think up of any idea with my subconscious mind then with my unconscious mind.
3. If I have a plan or a direction I know that I’m heading towards my pieces turn out better. Compared to when I have run out of time and have to just think of something and created it with a close deadline.
4. The amount of thought I put into a project is different for each idea. If it’s a movie or manga idea, it’s an ongoing lifelong thought process. But if it is just one of my drawing or paintings, I normally think of the idea without effort, and then I go into detail to make sure the piece will turn out properly. I use creativity and planning at the same time, I can’t workout one or the other or my pieces wouldn’t stick to my general style and messages I want to get across.
