Jardin Bramacho, has a big artist mind and a great big heart. Bramacho is known for taking an object, laying it over a massive photograph (he took), then re-taking the photograph with the new objects as the media. In my digital art course we watched a documentary of Bramacho’s work as he traveled to create beauty out of trash located in the largest landfill in the world. Pickers are the people who leave their homes and live in trash covered rooms and sort through the trash for recyclable items as a job every night and day. Bramacho was able to walk throughout the landfill with these pickers and as he did this he found the new faces for his art exhibit. The selected pickers and Bramacho became like family as they worked on these photographs. These artworks filled the hardware floor they worked on it, and it took many people to finish these mater pieces. (The exhibit was a success! And the money profited was given back to the pickers). After the work was done, many of the pickers that had helped (the one in the photographs) didn't return to the landfill, but started a better life for themselves in towns and close to their family and real homes.
