Just a moment ago I read a few things about Alaon Kaprow and Marcel Duchamp; alone with their thoughts on Art. I love the way Alaon Kaprow thought and how he explained the meaning of daily art. Art never had a rule book and it never will, so who has the right to tell us what is art and what isn’t art? No one. Kaprow used the simple action of brushing his teeth, and saw the art and beauty in it. I dare you do to the same, to see what happens when you really just look at yourself in the mirror and watch how your body moves when you’re brushing your teeth. Performance art is my most favorite type of art, like videotaping yourself brushing your teeth, would be something I would think was out of this world!!! Also Duchamp’s “readymade” series is something I would love to do sometime J it involves . . . nothing and anything. Duchamp would take an everyday object, such as the urinal (which was lost, and they have a fake on display), and he would just sign and date it. This simple action created masterpieces that would be around for ages and to influence people like me! Maybe someday soon I’ll have some of these art pieces with my name on them, but there is only one way to find out. . . I BETTER GET STARTED!!! :D
